Ive edited The Doorway to correct several grammar errors, a few spelling errors and redid some of the wording. I trust the changes will make the story easier to read and more enjoyable. For those that are interested this story was written using Canadian English, so you may find a few words that dont look quite right. I want to thank J. Mila Ramos for her help editing this story and in particular with Catherines character. I have also received help from a source that I cannot name by request that went over the story as well to correct several errors. Any remaining errors, mistakes or story weaknesses that you find are entirely my fault. I hope you enjoy part one; parts two and three will also be redone in the coming weeks. Prelude
Daniel noticed her for the first time in the coffee shop, a beautiful woman who looked so up tight with a suppressed truth she was ready to explode. He clothes, her necklace, her shoes and demeanour all spoke of hidden desires, all of confinement. A few weeks later he saw again in the coffee shop, this time in the afternoon. He watched her as she gazed at the gothic girl with the heavy silver collar around her neck. She sat quietly as she eyes followed the girl her hands fingering her own neck as she let out a quiet sigh.
A chance luncheon with a client gave him more of an insight. She walked by as they were talking, not seeing either of them. The client noticed his interest.
"Careful, shes a man eater. Shell make your balls shrivel. Her nickname is Catherine the Great, or the Ice Lady. Works at Humphries. One up tight bitch."
Daniel smiled.
"Sometimes those impressions can be deceiving."
