After recently moving into a new block of flats I was still in the process of meeting my new neighbours whenever I saw them in the lobby, lift, laundry room etc. One day after returning home from another long day at work I finally bumped into the lady who lived across the hall, just as she was coming out of her own apartment. She introduced herself as Jean and was a nice, still reasonably attractive middle aged lady who I guessed would be in her early fifties. She was just on her way to the shops when we bumped into each other so I invited her round for a quick drink later that evening just to be neighbourly.
I tried to smarten the place up a little before she came round later but when she arrived I ended up having to explain that my long hours at the office meant I couldn’t keep on top of my housework as much as I would like.
